Former Irish rugby union star Andrew Conway feels that Andy Farrell is “in a different category” to others around him.

Speaking to NewBettingOffers.co.uk, he said: “He’s incredible. I’ve been very fortunate to be coached by world-leaders including Rassie Erasmus, Jacques Nienaber, Joe Schmidt – and Andy Farrell is in that bracket. He is a special coach.

“I remember when he first took on the Head Coach role after Joe [Schmidt]. It was the Six Nations when COVID hit so we only played three matches before the tournament was called off. We beat Scotland and Wales and lost to England. We didn’t perform well against England but played well against the other two. Then we went into COVID and there was a lot of talk that Andy Farrell wasn’t as good as everyone thought he was going to be.

“Reading and hearing all that noise was laughable from a player’s perspective because we were the ones in the room with him, the ones on the training pitch with him, who really knew what he was like. Straight away, it was eye-opening how forward thinking he was, how well he treated everyone, and how happy he made that environment.”
